Pam’s Choice Foxglove

Pam’s Choice Foxglove

Foxgloves are a choice on the median that we made out of sheer love for a stunning flower. This selection, like several others in our first garden, we made on the advice of our friends at Wells Medina Nursery. The foxglove form is usually described as “spires” or “spikes.” How cool is that? This variety grows as tall as any, and sports creamy blooms with a burgundy center. It’s considered one of the best of all foxgloves. According to the likely-true planting lore, an Oregon nursery employee by the name of Pam spotted the then unknown specimen in a pile of discarded plants in the 1990s. She rescued the thing, and decided to cultivate her discovery. It became a top-selling foxglove, and so still bears her name.
