Beach Strawberry

Plant people can’t decide whether Beach Strawberry is an “aggressive” ground cover, or one in the more reassuring “moderate” growth category. It loves sandy soil, or even just mulch, like on the median. Come by in the middle of the spring and you’ll see delicate white flowers, which form small fruit. This wild strawberry is one of two varieties used to hybridize plants that produce grocery store strawberries.
